Featured Speaker:  Lee Hall, LLM, Author, On Their Own Terms, Capers in the Churchyard.  In 2014, Attorney Lee Hall earned a Master of Laws in environmental law with a focus on climate change.  Lee has been interviewed for Allegheny Front Environmental Radio and Alternet on the diet-climate connection, and teaches at Widener University - Delaware Law.
Subject:  Heat & Serve?  The Impact of a Typical Grocery List on Global Greenhouse Emissions.
In this informative A/V presentation, Lee will discuss what scientists are calling a protein shift from animal-based to growing crops direct for people  and how tonights dinner matters.  Puts common green myths to rest and includes practical kitchen-stocking tips.

Featured Speaker:  Janine Motta, Programs Director, Animal Protection League of NJ (  Employed by APLNJ since 1989, Janine has handled almost all aspects of the organization (including fundraising, bookkeeping, outreach, public presentations, and overseeing many programs).  With an acute sense of purpose, Janine uses her passion, professionalism and dedication to further the mission of APLNJ.
Subject:  But can they suffer?  The case for extending our circle of compassion to animals.

Featured Speaker & Cooking Demonstration:  Patrecia Schwailik, CCA, EFT-ADV.  Patrecia is an educator with more than 20 years of experience, working daily with special needs children, helping them overcome their disabilities while teaching them reading and mathematics.  She understands the effects nutrition has on children and has seen dramatic results with children affected with ADD/ADHD and other learning disabilities.  She regularly educates children and their parents as to the positive effects and benefits of good nutritional choices in her Healthy Cooking and Nutrition Classes for Kids.  Patrecia began her personal health journey when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1992.  She found that healing was a physical, spiritual and emotional journey.  Nutrition was one of the most integral aspects of her healing.  Her search led her to organic foods, macrobiotics, a vegan diet, and a holistic lifestyle.  She is now certified as a nutrition consultant, a graduate of Christina Pirellos School of Natural Cooking and Integrative Health Studies, an EFT-Advanced Practitioner and Certified Clinical Aromatherpist.  For two years she had a regular spot on the Morning Show on WSNJ 1240 AM.  Above all, she is grateful to be cancer free for 21 years.

Cooking Demonstration:  Christine Scalfo, HHC, AADP.  Through her own personal health crisis and healing through dietary changes, Christine now helps others by bridging the gap between what they should be eating, and actually eating it.  She does this through diet coaching, private and group cooking classes, personal chef services, and workshops and lectures. She is certified as a holistic health counselor through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through the T. Colin Campbell Foundation, a member of the United States Personal Chef Association and is Servsafe certified.
Demo:  Chocolate pudding and carrot cake smoothie

Cooking Demonstration:  Christina Martin.  Christina has worked at Vedge restaurant, is an adjunct chef instructor at JNA Institute of Culinary Arts and teaches community education cooking classes at Atlantic Cape Academy of Culinary Arts.  She is also on the Chefs Council for AtlantiCare Growing Green program and has her own business, Cooking to Nourish, that offers personal chef services as well as cooking demos.  Christina was featured on the cover of Independent Restaurateur magazine and was named one of the top 10 Instagramers to follow in Philly for healthy food by Philadelphia Magazine.  She has a business degree from Rowan University and a culinary degree from Atlantic Cape Academy of Culinary Arts.  She is an advocate for plant-based healthy vegan food and green living and promotes local, organic, gmo-free, and seasonal ingredients.
